Hair Cutting...
So to save money I have been cutting Ron's hair for a while now and I must say I am getting really good at it. Ron cut my hair a while back and he did fine but it was very very short! I am considering cutting Moses's hair. It is getting hot out and his hair is really long. I really don't like him with short hair but he seems miserable. I should take him to the groomers but that costs $$$ so I think I might just throw on a 2 guard and go to town. I will post before and after pics.

Moses' new bed...
Last week we bought Moses a new bed! We had been talking about it for a while. We found a very inexpensive doggie bed at target for super cheap and he loves it! It took him a little while to warm up to it but now he sleeps there all the time. At night he will start out in bed with us then later move to his bed. I was worried that he would not like it and ignore it but I was proven wrong.

Moses is one pricey dog...
This morning Ron took Moses to the vet to get his annual shots and such. We even decided that he would get groomed. A day at the spa was ideal since he has been a good little boy. I decided to have them run some blood work. I did this because I am terrified that he will get/has gastroenteritis. It isn't pretty...trust me! So then vet calls me with some bad news. Moses has heartworms. I ran out of his heartworm meds and completely forgot about it. Well my forgetfullness just slapped me in the face via my wallet. The medication they use to treat this is very expensive. All the blood work and test plus his grooming and annuals and such is going to run me a cool one thousand dollars. I instandly became sick to my stomach. This will be the last vet visit without pet insurance.

Creatures of the night...
I love my animals. Ms. Kitty is by far the best pet I have ever had. She is getting older and a little sweeter. Ms Kitty is about 11 years old and really is aging well. Still spry and alert. But every so often she gets ill. Last night I awoke to the sounds of Ms Kitty hawking up her meow mix in several places in the bedroom. About a moment later Moses jumped from the bed and I heard him cleaning up the mess. I got up and graciously stepped in kitty hurl. I didn’t want to wake Ron so I cleaned it up in the dark. As I washed my foot in the sink I was cursing the day I got her but it isn’t her fault. She just got sick. What is gross is that Moses wants to eat it! I just don’t understand it.

Nosey Bitch...
I was walking Moses the other morning before heading to work and as I was crossing the street this woman was crossing in the opposite direction. She told me, sternly, that I should not be dragging that poor dog. I informed her to mind her own business and kept walking. Moses gets distracted and there a times when I need to nudge him along. Who the hell does she think she is? I wanted to put the leash on her and drag her fat ass across the street. Stupid hooker!

Gastroenteritis…
Poor little Moses got sick. Poor little Moses pooped all over the house. Poor little Moses started bleeding from behind. Not good. He was lethargic and not eating. Apparently when he gets sick he gets in the bathtub. This was a good thing. I went to take a shower one morning and when I pulled the curtain back I could not help but notice the blood bath. The shower looked like a ritual sacrifice had occurred. So Moses was taken to the vet. He was severely dehydrated. So fluids and meds were given and he is perfectly fine now. He had Gastroenteritis which refers to the inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract and resulting in acute diarrhea. Not fun stuff people, not fun stuff.

The Bath...
Last night was cold and wet. I thought that I would just chill and I did. I decided that a nice hot bath would be excellent. So I turned on the water and added some bubbles. I went into the kitchen briefly. A few moments later I noticed that there was water on the floor in the living room and kitchen. It could not have been the tub as the water was concentrated in tiny puddles on the floor. I thought that I probably had tracked the water in since I had just taken Moses out. So I undress and walked into the bathroom. I noticed water on the floor in the bathroom and bedroom. Curious I called for Moses. He came and looked at me then ran. I finally caught him and he was soaked. Apparently he had decided to take a swim in the tub as it was filling. I toweled him dry and proceeded with my bath. Moses stood right there and watched me. He was acting like he was going to jump in. Then I did it. I put him in the bath with me. Oh he loved it! He just sat there while I chilled. Afterwards I took a quick shower to rinse off (you should always shower after a bath since you are just marinating in your own dirt and oils!) and gave Moses a full wash and fluff. I still can’t believe that I did that. But I used to have a cat that would like to shower with me in college. I have odd animals. What can I say?

One Sick Puppy...
Why do dogs like to eat cat shit? I don’t get it? I thought I had found a dog with a better palette but I was wrong. The shitty litter box is in the utility room and I have to keep the door slightly ajar so that Ms. Kitty can get in. In the months that I have had Moses he has never gotten into her box. Well, now he has. The other night I noticed that his breath was awful. I mean down right repulsive. I gave him a greenie and wish now that I hadn’t. He ate it and we went to bed. His breath was still explosive. I moved him to the other side of the bed. In the middle of the night I hear him throwing up on the bed. What came out was brown. I immediately cleaned it up with OxyClean™. Then I put him in the tub at 4am. His breath still nasty. I was like “what in the hell did you get into?” It never occurred to me that he was having cat dung hor’s de vours. I was able to get more sleep and when I was about to walk out the door he urinated all over himself on the sofa. So I gave him another bath and then cleaned the sofa. When I got home I found litter pellets on the rug. I followed the trail and found a few cat turds. BINGO! I then brushed his teeth. He didn’t like this but I couldn’t take it anymore. He did this again and I caught him. I try and clean the box everyday but the little shit (no pun intended) keeps beating me to it. I rigged the little box to where he has no access.
Toto...
I swear that I am going to put a sign on my dog that states “I am NOT Toto, Bitches!” If I have one more person come up to me and ask if Moses is Toto I will probably commit a homicide. Moses is a Yorkshire Terrier. Toto is a Cairn Terrier. Now, there is some discussion as to the type of terrier breed that Toto was. Frank L. Baum never specified the breed in his Oz books. He explained that Toto was “a little black dog, with long, silky hair and small black eyes…” This description could be any type of small dog. In the illustrations in the novel, Toto is believed to be a Cairn Terrier which are very similar to a Yorkie and a Cairn was used in the movie. Ugh.
